Toyohashi City is situated on the southeastern edge
of Aichi Prefecture. The city borders Shizuoka Prefecture and the Yumihari Mountains.
To the south of the city is the Pacific Ocean, and the city opens onto Mikawa
Bay in the west.
The Pacific Belt Area is a continuous industrial area stretching from Tokyo
to Osaka, and Toyohashi is located at the center of the belt. People have lived
in the Toyohashi area since pre-Christian times, and there are many prehistoric
monuments and archaeological traces of different ages.
Currently, the population of Toyohashi City is approximately 370,000. Toyohashi
