Jinno Area

Jinno Area The Jinno area is the heart of the Toyohashi section of the Port of Mikawa. It is composed of an eastern section with a total area of 96 ha and a western section with a total area of 120 ha, and it has 6 types of public wharfs that span a total of 3,540 m and range in depth from 4 m for domestic shipping to 12 m for international shipping.

The Jinno area has become very active as a base for importing and exporting automobiles, particularly since a series of foreign automobile makers entered the market in the 1990s. Since then, the Port of Mikawa Toyohashi Container Terminal went into operation at Jinno Quay No. 7 in November 1998, and a second gantry crane went into operation Jinno Quay No. 8 in April 2008. Also, a land reclamation plan is going through in order to provide more land for new industrial development, and foreign companies continue to set up operations to handle imports.
Funato Area

Funato Area The Funato area is a public harbor built to handle domestic cargo. It has 21 berths which range in depth from 4.0 m to 5.5 m. Among these, there are 4.5 m deep earthquake-resistant quays in place in case of an emergency. Also, green space along the water front in this area is currently in the process of being expanded.
Akemi Area

Akimi Area Originally known as Osaki Island, this 659 ha area consists of the original island surrounded by reclaimed land. The area is composed of a steel mill, a shipbuilder, and the Akemi Industrial Base, which originally started in 1973 as a base for wooden housing-related industries.

The Akemi Industrial base comprises approximately two-thirds of the entire Akemi area. It originally started with companies involved in wooden housing construction, but recently companies in the automobile and chemical industries have made advances here. In addition to the active production being done here, this area also has a corporate park used by companies in the field of overland logistics.

This area has private company quays for importing and exporting raw materials and finished products.
