Toyohashi is blessed with a rich natural environment, as it is surrounded by the sea and mountains. To the north of the city is Mt. Ishimaki, and to the east in the hill area are the Toyohashi Nature Walk and the Imo Bog.

The Toyogawa River, flowing from Oku-Mikawa, flows through the city, blending with the surrounding greenery to create a beautiful landscape. To the South are the vast expanses of the Pacific Ocean with beautiful beaches.

The 530 (No Trash) Campaign
"Take your own trash home" is the slogan, and a "No Trash" campaign has been launched as a citizens' initiative.

Imo Bog

The Imo Bog lies to the west of the Yumihari Mountains. The bog contains naturally occurring rare plants and plants unique to the Mikawa region, and many insect-eating plants can also be seen.

The area is also known for its hiking trail, and pretty flowers can be seen from spring through fall, such as the Haru Rindo (spring gentian) and Mikawa Baikeiso (Mikawa Veratrum) in the spring, and the Shiratama Hoshikusa (Eriocaulon nudicuspe, indigenous to the Tokai region) in the autumn.

Omotehama Coast

A white beach stretching approximately 51 km along the Enshu coast. Red sea turtles come here to lay their eggs from June to August. From early April to late November, drag net fishing on the beach can also be enjoyed.
